So tragic 😭 I still don’t get what made Rich turn on you. Not sure dementia explains it. But I can’t imagine how horrific that is. I don’t know how you survived it but I’m glad you did. 🫶🏻 Sending healing.
I firmly believe things have a way of working out for the best. You just don’t know it at the time. Ironically, that is what “Rich” used to say all the time. He gave me many wonderful gifts: compassion, fun and affection. Lots of laughs and support though difficult times.
I still can’t get over how sudden it was for you. Fifteen years of love, affection, routine, a home, and snap — just gone. 😭😱 hugs — so glad it did work out! I needed therapy from my ex and thought that was bad enough but sheesh🙈

Elaine - thank you for the thoughtful comments. My current life could not be better. Hope you are well also. Sending good thoughts back to you.
I had a husband leave me unexpectedly but I too made a better life after that. 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

Wanted to read this again, you’re a very special person 🫂
Thanks Steve. Sadly a true story. Fictionalized, of course.
Not sure why this piece hasn’t been more appreciated. It is simply beautiful. Tragic and beautiful. Wow..
Thank you Steve. More truth than fiction in that one.
